CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – 5 Star Media Group/Saga Communications is thrilled to announce the appointment of Chad Heritage as Program Director of Beaver 100.3, a flagship radio station in the Clarksville/Hopkinsville market. Heritage started in his new role on June 27, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the country music format.

Heritage joins the 5 Star team after an extensive career in country radio. Most recently, he served as the Program Director for WGKX (Kix 106) in Memphis. Prior to his tenure at WGKX, Heritage was Program Director at KSSN/KMJX and served as the Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeart in Little Rock, Arkansas. Additionally, he also served as National Brand Coordinator at iHeart, showcasing his exceptional talent and expertise in the field.

Heritage will play a pivotal role in leading Beaver 100.3’s programming strategy, ensuring that the station continues to provide high-quality content and serve the communities of Clarksville, Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell. In addition to his role on Beaver, he’ll be Program Director for Z97.5, and he’ll be on-air on Beaver from 2-7 p.m. daily.

“I love the outdoors – hiking, fishing and kayaking – so this is the perfect spot for me here in Tennessee and Kentucky,” Heritage said. “With that being said, the main reason I moved here is because I get the opportunity to work with an incredible team and such a great company.”

“We are excited to have Kevin join the Saga family as our new General Manager for the Five Star Radio Group,” said Wayne Leland, Saga Communications Senior Vice President/Operations. “Kevin’s style, experience and leadership abilities fit perfectly with Saga. His passion for the people and communities he serves will help lead our team in Tennessee to even greater accomplishments.”

Miskimins most recently served as South Florida Area/Market President of iHeartMedia for 11 years. He will lead the 5 Star group in Clarksville, which includes Clarksville NowChristian County Now and nine radio stations: Beaver 100.3, Q108, Z97.5, Rewind 94.3, Sunny 99.1, ESPN Clarksville, Outlaw 100.7, EZ 99.9 and NewZee 105.5.

He replaces Katie Gambill, who has been promoted to Saga Communications Director of Online News Brands. “I am excited to welcome Kevin to Clarksville,” Gambill said. “He is the perfect person for this staff and this community.”

About Miskimins

Miskimins, who grew up in Grants Pass, Oregon, played collegiate golf at the University of Nevada, Reno and, after time playing professional tours both domestically and internationally, landed in Las Vegas.

His career in broadcast began with the Beasley Media Group in Las Vegas, where he was General Sales Manager for five years. He then held that role at CBS Radio in Portland, Oregon, for five years. His first Market President role was with Centennial in Virginia, before he took on the Area/Market President role with iHeartMedia in South Florida.

Miskimins and his wife Erin, who have moved here from Cape Coral, Florida, have two adult children. “Erin and I are so excited about the welcoming and helpful spirit of the community that we have experienced. It has certainly inspired us and created an immediate pride in being a part of the community,” Miskimins said.

NASHVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – For the second year in a row, ClarksvilleNow.com has won top digital honors at the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting Awards.

In Best Use of Digital or Social Media Platforms in its division, first place went to ClarksvilleNow.com. Clarksville Now was created by Katie Gambill, president and general manager of 5 Star Media Group, in 2010. It has since grown to become the dominant digital news operation in Clarksville, with over 2 million page views per month. Clarksville Now also provides broadcast news to the nine 5 Star stations, including Q108 and Beaver 100.3 FM.

The site has recently gained national attention. 5 Star’s parent company, Saga Communications, has promoted Gambill to the newly created position of Director of Online News Brands in order to lead a national rollout of local news websites based on the success of Clarksville Now.

Also, Clarksville’s Conversation, an original Clarksville Now podcast, won Best Local Talk Show. The program, which airs Sundays on WNZE, is hosted by Gambill and Charlie Koon, and is produced by 5 Star Operations Manager Ryan Ploeckelman.

The statewide awards banquet was held Aug. 21 at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
